Tools and a New Shed

With funds generously donated by volunteers and supporters, the Chico Mendes Project was able to purchase many new tools invaluable to the reforestation efforts. Among the new tools are shovels, hoes, machetes, and wheel barrows. To house the new equipment, the Project used remaining funds to construct a tool shed next to the tree nursury. For pictures of the new tool shed, check out the photo gallery or visit our Face Book page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Proyecto-de-Reforestaci%C3%B3n-Chico-Mendes/161878030541679.

On-site Water

Since its beginning, the Chico Mendes Reforestation Project has been without consistent access to water. Currently, water only flows into the Project cisterns at night, making the night the best time to water. We have begun a fudraising campaign to purchase water rights from the muicipality to ensure a reliable source of water throughout the day at the Project.
